BizDB Searchable Web Database Installer

This Installer is suitable for the installation of a new BizDB Evaluation, BizDB Starter, BizDB Standard or BizDB Advance database application on your server operated in a standalone environment. All CGI scripts, Html templates and database files will be setup and initialized from scratch.

Once the installation is complete and proved working, you should download all the BizDB CGI scripts, Html templates and database files from your server using any FTP client software and then back them up safely on your PC.

We do not recommend you to use this Installer to upgrade your existing BizDB files which are already operating in a production or established environment. For such systems, you should use our BizDB File Uploader to upload your modified CGI scripts or templates, one at a time.

You can use this Installer to install multiple copies of CGI scripts and templates with each copy supporting a different database application. Each of these BizDB copies should be installed on a different CGI and Html subdirectories.

1. Specify all new directories you want to create:

All fields relevant to your Version are to be completed.

The pathname of your Website's Home Page Directory (relative to server ROOT) is **websiteroot**

Enter pathnames of all new directories:

  • You must enter below the absolute pathnames (relative to your server's ROOT directory) of all new directories you would like to create to store your BizDB CGI scripts, database files, templates and user uploaded images.
  • Each pathname must be started with a / and ended with a / character and must be terminted by a linefeed (your keyboard's Return Key).
  • Note: Absolute pathname of a directory is not an URL. It is very similar to the pathname of a directory displayed by your PC's Windows Explorer. If you have problems, please check with your Web hosting company.

Example: The following example tells the software to create a new cgi script directory "bizdb" under cgi-bin; a new html directory "bizdb" containing 3 new subdirectories "db", "templates" and "upload-img". It is essential that the pathname of the html directory "bizdb" be placed before the 3 new subdirectories so that the parent directory can be created first.
/home/username/httpd/cgi-bin/bizdb/
/home/username/httpd/htdocs/bizdb/
/home/username/httpd/htdocs/bizdb/db/
/home/username/httpd/htdocs/bizdb/templates/
/home/username/httpd/htdocs/bizdb/upload-img/

Do you want to terminate the installation if one or more of the directories above have already been created before:
